NATASHA KARPINSKAIA

Natasha was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. Her postsecondary education began at Moscow University where she focused on Linguistics. She then attended the St. Petersburgh Academy of Fine Arts for Art History, after which she worked as a curator for the Tretyakov Gallery, a major art museum in Moscow. To continue her education, Natasha came to the United States to pursue a Doctorate in American Art from Columbia University. After graduation, she became a professor at the New York Academy where she taught American and Western European Art. Natasha is currently a full time artist but often teaches classes on painting, mixed media, collage, printmaking and art history at the Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan, Connecticut.
Natasha has participated in numerous solo and juried shows throughout the United States and abroad. She is also a recipient of the prestigious Connecticut Commission on the Arts award.
