Nikolay had always been interested in the arts and began to develop his love of painting while growing up in his native Kazakhstan. He was introduced to plein air painting in high school and has devoted himself to that discipline ever since.
Nature is his calling. He has always been fascinated with the rural environment, the seasons and the shifting weather he observes while out in the field. His paintings convey the mood and ambiance of a specific place and allow the viewer to imagine themselves there. Nikolay’s work is a reminder that we cannot separate ourselves from nature and that we should cherish the moments that we would otherwise take for granted.
