Susan Huppman was born in Mississippi and grew up in New Orleans. She was drawn to art from early childhood and has been making art her whole life. She graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Art History/Visual Arts.
At Princeton, she studied painting under Irish painter, Sean Scully and criticism under poet David Shapiro, himself a student of noted art critic Meyer Shapiro. Susan has taken numerous classes at Maryland Institute College of Art. She is endlessly fascinated by the natural world.
Susan now lives on a farm in Maryland with her husband and two children.
