In Conjunction with October4Design, New Canaan, Connecticut’s, month-long celebration of architecture, art, design and the community where it happens (Organized by the New Canaan Museum & Historical Society) Handwright Gallery and Framing will be revisiting Susan Cutler Tremaine’s interpretive exploration of Philip Johnson’s architectural plans for his Glass House.  Tremaine, a long time practicing architectural interior designer and dedicated painter, was intrigued by Philip Johnson’s original sketches which he made before settling on the built home and landscape design. After studying these drawings, Tremaine merged some of the sketches and topography into paintings.  These reinterpretations along with some other of Tremaine’s architecturally inspired paintings, will be on display Oct 15th-November 15th.
