MORTIMER H. SLOTNICK
Mortimer H. Slotnick (1920 – 2011) was an American artist whose work has been compared to the poetry of Robert Frost: simple and realistic, serene and haunting.
His luminous compositions pay tribute to the beauty of rural America. He has captured the ever changing seasons, while celebrating the vanishing American countryside. Whether his landscapes conjure sharp images of the morning after the first snowfall with air crisp and clear…or a more impressionistic scene in a blinding snowstorm…or the breathtaking hues of autumn’s rich tapestry of colors, Slotnick’s work draws viewers into each scene to experience nature at its purest.
Slotnick’s work can be found in major museums and important private collections, including those of past presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter.
