“Tell me something that has a greater display of light, shadow and color than clouds…it’s a constant kaleidoscope. I was born and raised in Yosemite National Park, California. I spent the first 14 years of my life surrounded by this natural beauty, perhaps the subtle beginning of enjoying landscape and light. Wasatch Academy and the University of Utah then allowed me to see the west and southwest, also a significant influence on landscape. Three years in Germany as an Army Captain allowed me to travel to great cities and their wonderful museums which were a whole new history lesson in art.
My wife and I recently moved from a mountain in Colorado to Palm Beach County, Florida. The scenery has changed, but it is all still inspiring. I will always paint and each new piece brings a new lesson and satisfaction.”
