“Painting requires being fully present in the moment. It is a gift to be able to see and experience things that are easily missed in the fast pace of life. I am grateful for this opportunity and want to share it through my work.”
Painting the landscape en plein air is a passion; whether it is in her garden, in the historic district where she lives or the destinations to which she travels. She returns to Nantucket to paint the moors, cottages, sands and sea, bathed in a light unique to the island. In addition to landscapes, Susan enjoys painting flowers portraits and figures as well. Her works are often described as sensitive, calming, peaceful and inspiring.
